Broadrayne Farm view of Helm Crag

Around Us

The Yan at Broadrayne is right in the heart of the Lake District National Park. We are surrounded by so many amazing walks to do right from the farm...no need for your car! In all of our accommodation we have OS maps with The Yan at Broadrayne at the centre, to help you get back to us after your day on the fells.

Our favourite walks from the door are all handily in the information book, that you would find in your accommodation on the farm.

These include;

  • Grisedale Tarn - onwards to Seat Sandal, Fairfield, or even the Helvellyn range

  • Helm Crag - onwards to Steel Fell, Grasmere Common and Easedale Tarn

  • Alcock Tarn - onwards to Great Rigg or the coffin trail into Ambleside

  • Loughrigg cave, tarn and fell!

See our quick and easy walking guides starting at The Yan. Always remember the fells can be ever-changing so please do your research, dress appropriately and go equipped for the day.

If you're not fancying a walk, there are so many other great things to do nearby!  Our farm is also close to local attractions such as Dove Cottage and Allan Bank, and with Ambleside, Keswick and Windermere all close by, you’ll never be short of places to explore! Why not take a ferry ride down a lake, visit Beatrix Potters house, or have a wild day out at Go Ape.
